My First Graduation Speech

Video Courteous G. Bajwa's Youtube Page

In 2011, I started working at my first school as a Before & After Care Counselor... Two weeks later I was promoted and became the Before & After Care Director at the ripe age of 21. Two years later I became a fourth-grade teacher and then three years later I became the Mathematic Intervention Specialist for middle school.

This speech was written while I was attending Barry University (my second alma mater) during my second attempt at a master's program. I was tasked with writing a speech as is I was the principal of a school and it could be for any occasion. I instantly decide that there was no other group of students that I would write this speech for. I had to write for my originals, the students that I watched grow from second graders to becoming my first class of students during my first year teaching.

This speech is the first of many speeches that I have given and it was the gateway to something that was beyond excellent. Those students will forever be "my students", my "babies", and "my joys". I always want to know that they are doing well and pursuing their dreams. Most importantly I know that every student in that room and every family left the nest feeling that they will always have someone that cares for them and a place to call home.
